Is pemvidutide FDA-approved?
Investigational. Not FDA-approved.
Overview
In the 24-week IMPACT phase 2b trial in people with MASH, the liver disease resolved in about 52–58% of people on pemvidutide, versus 20% on placebo. It hasn't yet shown a clear effect on liver scarring at that time point.
How it works
GLP-1 action lowers appetite; glucagon action pushes the liver to burn stored fat.
How long does pemvidutide stay in the body?
Long enough for once-weekly shots in trials.
What it's studied for
- Fatty liver disease (MASH)
- Obesity
Reported side effects
- Nausea, vomiting, diarrhea
Related: Eloralintide, Pramlintide, Petrelintide, Setmelanotide.
