A vial labelled 2 mg/mL. 15 units is 0.15 mL, and 0.15 mL × 2 mg/mL = 0.3 mg.
How the math works
A unit on a U-100 syringe is 0.01 mL, so mg = units ÷ 100 × strength, and units = mg ÷ strength × 100.
If you mixed the vial yourself, its strength is the mg in the vial divided by the water you added. Pick "Powder + water" above and the calculator works it out.

Questions
How many mg is 40 units of semaglutide?
40 units is always 0.4 mL on a U-100 syringe. How many mg that holds depends on your vial's strength, so type the mg/mL from your label above.
Is a unit the same as a mg?
No. A unit on an insulin syringe is a volume: 0.01 mL (U-100 means 100 units in each mL). A mg is an amount of medicine. The same 10 units hold more mg in a stronger vial.
Do Ozempic and Wegovy pens use units?
No. Ozempic and Wegovy are FDA-approved, and their labels give each dose in mg (Ozempic label, Wegovy label). Units come up with compounded semaglutide, which isn't FDA-approved: a pharmacy's instructions may give the amount in units. FDA has had reports of people measuring the wrong amount from compounded vials (FDA).
Why do units and mg differ?
Units are how much liquid you draw. mg is how much medicine is in it. Compounded vials come in different strengths, so the same units can hold different mg. In one case FDA reported, people told to draw 5 units drew 50.
