Weight loss percentage calculator
Type your starting weight and your weight now, in the same unit. You get the percentage of your starting weight lost.
Weight loss % = (starting weight − weight now) ÷ starting weight × 100
This does arithmetic on the numbers you type. It doesn't predict results.
Worked example
A starting weight of 200 lb and 190 lb now is 10 lb lost. 10 ÷ 200 × 100 = 5%.
How the math works
Subtract your weight now from your starting weight, divide by the starting weight and multiply by 100. If you weigh more than when you started, the page shows the percentage gained instead.
It runs in your browser. Nothing you type leaves this page, and nothing is saved.
Questions
How do I calculate weight loss percentage?
Take the weight you lost, divide it by your starting weight and multiply by 100. Losing 10 lb from 200 lb is 10 ÷ 200 × 100 = 5%.
Does it matter if I use pounds or kilograms?
No, as long as both weights use the same unit. The percentage comes out the same either way.
Which starting weight should I use?
The one you want to measure from, such as the day you started tracking. A different starting weight gives a different percentage, so keep the same one each time you compare.
